Hey dolls! So, I don’t know if anyone noticed
but prom season is officially in full swing! I have a huge (literally huge) weekend coming up for prom
makeup back in my hometown this weekend! I thought I
had a pretty nice system going. I was going to do 4 or 5 appointments and space
them 45 minutes apart (like last year). Not bad, right? Well… Let’s just say
that I am literally at max capacity
for my prom girlies... I am just starting to squeeze them in where I can. Tis’ the prom season! I love it.
I never really
thought the day of prom was a big deal (it was the days leading up to prom that
got me). Holy balls were those days intense! I remember the days of spending my
high school life savings on garters and shoes and makeup and some more makeup
and earrings and tanning and hair… the list goes on and on! I will just stick to doing prom makeup.
Who doesn't love some prom throwbacks?
The top picture is my junior prom and the bottom picture is my senior prom!
I know (and remember) how much of an important day that
prom is to girls so I want to share some of my tips and tricks as to how to make
it easier on you so you don’t turn into a promzilla. Yes, I said promzilla… don’t be that girl! So, here are my tips
to avoid being a hot mess express on prom.
Things you should be doing the week of prom!
1. If you decided to actually go into a bed and
tan, quit tanning on Thursday. The one or two days of extra tanning are not
going to make a difference… trust me!
2. Spray tans are amazing and they look even more
amazing if properly prepare and care for them! Pay attention to what they tell you to do! It is muy
importante! Shave, exfoliate, and have clean skin! No lotion until after you get your spray tan! After you get it then you should go nuts with the lotion life! Spray tans stay longer in hydrated skin!
3. Take extra good care of your skin that week before!
Wash your face, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize some
more! Don’t stop at your face either… put lotion literally all over!
4. Don’t skimp on the Chap Stick. Your lipstick
will look even better when it is applied to nice and moisturized lips. So,
apply it like it is going out of style throughout the week!
5. Do yourself a favor and avoid getting your eyebrows
waxed the day before. I do not recommend getting your eyebrows waxed the
day before any big event because hello, it is harsh on your damn skin! Your
makeup will apply better to skin that wasn’t just freshly ripped off 24-hours
before! So, get them waxed sometime during the week and then pluck if you need
to!
6. Find a foundation you like and wear it for a day to
see how it works with your skin! Foundations can be fantastic and foundations can also be the devil reincarnated! So, go out and find one that works with your skin!

Every
single product that I mentioned above is one that you can find at Ulta! All of
my favorite's that I mentioned are nude, a pinky nude, or a pink. What can I
say? I love the nude lip life. The plus side is that I mentioned collections! All
of the above collections are amazing so you can go find a color that speaks to
your soul! Also, I have several other products that I love that are not from
Ulta but I will mention them another time. Also, look in my “Being Beautiful on a Budget; Drugstore Cosmetics 101”
blog if you are looking for drugstore lip recommendations!
8. If you bought a new pair of shoes, break them in! Who
the hell wants to wear uncomfortable shoes all day? I always break my shoes in!
I literally wear my heels around my house while wearing pajamas and it works like a charm. Breaking your
shoes in makes a difference! Trust me!
9. Whiten your teeth if they are not looking so pearly white!
If you feel like your teeth are looking a little bit dull, go out and buy some
white strips for a quick and easy fix! I never did this because I have sensitive teeth but do you girl!
10. Always remember that less is more with lashes! It is prom… not
Halloween. You want to enhance your beauty and not cover it up! So, don’t go
for the huge lashes when you are looking to buy some!

11. Relax! You’ll look gorgeous no matter what. Seriously…

you go my loves! Everything you need to know to prevent yourself from becoming
a promzilla! As always, let me know if you have any other questions!
Have an
amazing prom week!

to you soon!
