Bombshell Step-by-Step

Happy hump day! Does anyone else feel like this week is flying right on by? Thank God! I have been planning on getting another prom makeup look up for EVER now but I just really haven’t had the time to do it... And I have had TERRIBLE writer's block. Pretty sad, I know! But, on the plus side, I had a chance today and I was feeling extra creative! YAY!

So, I did a bombshell prom look! I did this eye look on one of my prom girls last year and she was probably my favorite makeup look of the season because I just love this type of look. This look is just so gorgeous and not to mention it is SO MUCH easier than it looks! You really don’t need to have like any experience with makeup to do this look.

I was in Target the other day and I came across the lipstick section... big surprise, right? Anyways, I was looking at these lipsticks for half of my lifetime and then all of a sudden I came across this GORGEOUS matte red lipstick and I was like “HELLO WORLD, THIS IS FANTASTIC!” yes, I was that dramatic. I should probably tell you guys the name of it, huh? It is the Maybelline Cosmetics Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in the shade Siren in Scarlet 690. GO BUY IT NOW!  Here comes my rant; usually if I were to wear a red lip, which isn’t very often because I tend to shy away from them. Now, I know not everyone is going to dig this look because for one I paired it with a very red lip! But, red is in especially for prom! I usually would go for a more simple eye look just for the fact that I want the attention to be on my lips normally. But, who the hell cares about those stupid rules anymore? If you want to have a black smokey eye and a red lip then you can do that! You can be as dramatic as you please when you are doing your makeup because you are the only one who has to have that makeup on your face. So, do it!

I mean, I finished this look at about 3:15 and then all I did after was go to the grocery store and then I made enchiladas for supper and I did it with a damn good smokey eye and a hot red lip. My enchiladas were that much better because of the smokey eye and red lip combo, I’m sure of it.

Yup... The smokey eye helped.

I wanted to show you guys this lip color because of how amazing it is and I also wanted to show you guys my go to bombshell look! So... I just did it in one! Here it is my loves.

My Bombshell Look

Step 1:
Wash your face, moisturize, and prime your face as usual!

Today, I used the Purity Made Simple Face Wash to wash my face, the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer to moisturize, and the NYX Photo-Loving Primer.
Side note, I never really buy expensive primers because I don’t really need a primer.
I feel like if you keep your skin moisturized and it will do the same thing.

Step 2:

Apply your foundation!

I used my typical L’Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation in the shades Honey Beige N6 and Natural Buff N3!

Yes, I got a spray tan and I love it! I just wish I wouldn't get such a bad line from how much I wash my face! I wash my neck and my face because you should ALWAYS wash and MOISTURIZE your neck!

Honey Beige was the shade I wore the last time I went to Mexico. However, I am a strong Florida tan but not quite a Mexico tan so I had to mix them! I applied my foundation with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush!

Step 3:

Fill in your brows if you want to!

Step 4:

Apply a thick line of eyeliner on your lid!

This step does NOT need to be perfect. That’s the best thing about this entire look is you can be kind of sloppy. I used the Maybelline Define-A-Line in the shade brownish black.

Notice in my picture how I have a line on my eye from my eyeliner! Several people ask how to get rid of it... Put powder on and it won't do that!

Step 5:

With the Sonia Kashuk Large Domed Eye Shadow brush apply the color Cream from the Lorac Pro Palette and apply it directly in and above your crease.

I used all shades from the Lorac Pro Palette on my eyes!

Step Six:

With a fluffy flat brush (I don’t know the one I used) apply the color Taupe all over your lid and into your crease.

Step 7:

Apply the shade Sable with another flat shadow brush all over your lid.

You can see how messy it was!

Step 8:

With a flat definer brush you can apply the shade Expresso or Black right along your lash line to darken it up!

Step 9:

With a Sonia Kashuk Large Crease Brush apply the shade Taupe directly into your crease in windshield wiper motions. Keep blending girl!

Step 10:

Apply the shade Nude to your brow bone!

Step 11:

Touch up any mistakes you made while applying your eye shadow!

I usually just take a tiny tiny amount of foundation and put it over my face again! Don’t get too crazy though!

Step 12:

Apply your concealer in an upside down triangle underneath your eyes, down your nose, and on your forehead!

You will want to do a bit of a heavy highlight if you want to look like a complete bombshell!

I had a picture but it got deleted!

Step 13:

Set your face with powder! Apply powder where you applied concealer or where you get oily!

I used the L’Oreal Hydra Perfecte Perfecting Loose Powder because it’s what I had.

Step 14:

With a flat definer brush apply the shade “Black” directly on your lower lash line.

Step 15:

With a pencil brush apply the shade Sable and blend out that original Black shade.

Step 16:

Line your upper and lower lash line with a black eye pencil.

I used the Carbon Black Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner.

Step's 14-15 are done in the same process as in my other prom look! My pictures are MIA! :(

Step 17:

Apply falsies if you please or curl your lashes!

The trick I do is putting my lash curler underneath my blow dryer for like 15 seconds and then curl my lashes. Works like a charm!

Step 18:

Apply a ton of mascara!

I used the CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume and the L’Oreal Voluminous Original.

Step 19 (Optional):

Contour your nose.

When I say that I literally mean draw a line on each side of your nose! It’s much easier than it looks. I need to figure out the camera life so I can show you.

I don't know where all my pictures went to... It's making me sad.

Step 20:

BRONZE, BRONZE, BRONZE!

I am not doing a contour on my face because I want that really blown out and sexy look. I want the attention to be on my eyes and not my good-looking contour. So, bronze the crap out of your face! Especially if you have a spray tan like me!

If I were to do any shade of bronzer for this look it would have been the Benefit Hoola Bronzer but I just used the bronzer I had. I love the Hoola bronzer more than life itself but I am out and have to wait I can go buy it again!

Step 21:

Apply your blush!

I used a blush with a shimmer in it this time. I used the shade Romance by Makeup Geek and OMG! I cannot say enough good things about this blush like every other makeup geek product. This stuff is perfect for when you have a tan because it has a bit of a shine in it. It is so gorgeous! The price is on point too.

Step 22 (Optional):

I applied another highlight.

I used the Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette. I mixed the shades Heavens and Enjoy the Silence. I applied them with the Elf Flawless concealer brush directly on the tops of my cheekbones.

I have had this palette for a while now and the only times I really reach for it is for these highlight shades. They are intense!

Yeah... They may be a bit in your face but they are so perfect for this look! Holy hell do they look good!

Oh, your face is done now.

Step 23:

Apply a lipstick of your choice!

I would typically go for a nude lipstick for this look because what is sexier than a smoky eye, a bronzed face, a good highlight, and a nude lip? Nothing.

Anyway! I did two because I figured I could show you.

So, like I said... This Siren in Scarlet color is stunning. It is everything life is about.

It is perfectly matte.

Or... You can do a nude!

I applied the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the shade Liar! It is the perfect beige pinky nude. I love the formula's for these lipsticks. I threw on a gloss in the center to make my lips look bigger but I don't know which one I threw on because it fell behind my desk.

No doubt that I feel more comfortable in a nude!

Step 24 (Optional):

Set your makeup!

I used the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray.

This stuff is amazing.

I'M DONE!

I hope you guys love this look as much as I do! I wear this anytime I have something special going on where I want to look really really really fricken good. I wanted to show you guys how amazing the lipstick was as well as my favorite smokey eye look. I got two things done in one! Yay for life!

Enjoy your night!

Xoxo,

Clarissa
