Update on Made-Up in the Midwest!

Hello everybody! Can I just say how much I hate this weather? It’s gloomy, it’s cold, and it’s windy. You would think after almost two years of being in South Dakota that I could adjust to this whole South Dakotan wind thing but nope, it still rips right into my soul every single time that I walk out of the door. Ugh! I need Mother Nature to just pick a side and decide what season she wants to be (typical girl move of not being able to make up her mind). I need summer already!

Anyways, I just kind of wanted to give you all a little bit of an update on what my plans are for the next few weeks here on Made-Up in the Midwest.

I have told you guys that this past week has been extremely busy for me. I have been an 18-credit student these past two semesters and is has been pretty manageable for me because I like to stay busy but this semester I literally get slammed with all of my exams in one week almost every five to six weeks. It is horrible! It just so happens that this week is one of those weeks where I have all of my exams in one week. I had three exams back to back to back yesterday, I have an exam on Thursday, and then I have a four-hour long proficiency exam (college version of the ACT) on Thursday after my Money and Banking exam! So, it is safe to say that it has just been one of those weeks for me. I have a lot going on in the world of Clarissa.

First things first, I would really like to get a step-by-step tutorial on my look I did for Pub-Crawl on Saturday or just a step-by-step in general. The only down side of a step-by-step is that they take a lot of time to do because I have to do it on me and then stop and take a picture between every single step that I do. I also do not have a good camera (I just have an iPhone) so when I do them it has to be in the natural lighting because the lighting in my room is just absolutely terrible! This lighting could make Kim K look like an alien! The problem that I am having with the natural lighting situation is that it is usually the best during the time that I am in class. So, I have to figure it out a little. Like I said in my very first post, there would be some kinks with this process so just bare with me!

My “Pub-Crawl” glam look!
Second, I want to actually show you guys how to APPLY makeup. I want to show you guys how to do simple things like an every day foundation routine, eyebrows, how I do my contour, what order you should put your makeup on, and so on! I feel like I should show you all simple “how-to” things first because then when I do more step-by-steps on my eye looks then I can just skip over my face and just do my eyes for you!

Third, I want to actually get some posts in about my all time favorite thing to do, which is baking! I live in a dorm (SDSU makes you live in the dorms for two years) and the kitchen is not exactly ideal so I have to wait until I am home so I can use my momma’s glorious kitchen! I am going home this weekend and also the next weekend so I will be able to get some stuff up about baking and maybe some cooking recipes! I already have some plans for what I am going to be working on and I am so excited! I am patiently waiting to show you all my wannabe housewife talents!

Also, I want to get up some posts about crafts! I love to craft when I have the time! I have some ideas for Easter and other spring type stuff. My plan is to hit up Hobby Lobby on Saturday!

Like I said, there will be some struggles here and there. I am still trying to figure this all out! Once I have more time it will be much easier! I would love to craft, bake, do makeup all day, and then blog about it but school is my number one. Maybe if Made-Up in the Midwest goes the way I hope for it to then one day I will have the luxury of doing that stuff! That is my ultimate dream (hashtag goals). Also, the camera and video thing will be coming, I promise! I am a real world girl with a real world budget so I just have to prioritize my spending a little bit! I have a lot of big purchases that I would like to make such as my very own KitchenAid mixer!Buying a KitchenAid mixer is every twenty year olds dream, right? I swear that I am a twenty year old trapped inside a forty year olds body!

I have to keep telling myself that all good things come with time! I am the type of girl that when I want something, I want it now and you can bet your ass that I will do anything to go out and get it! Being overly ambitious is a good and bad thing!

Anyways, thank you all so very much for reading! I hope I make your guys’ day as much as you have made mine lately. I always look forward to looking at my page and my blog. It is so much better than a book, what can I say?

Please let me know of any blogs that you want me to do!
I need suggestions!
Also, any opinions as to what cameras are good would be lovely!

Have an awesome gloomy day!

Xoxo,

Clarissa

P.S. some of the blogs I have thinking about doing are:
My face routine.
How I contour.
My "Pub-Crawl glam" look.
My everyday makeup routine.
My must haves in March.
Different DIY crafts (I have some in mind).
Cupcakes, cupcakes, and more cupcakes!
My favorite eye shadow palates.
A Q&A?
