Good morning, sunshine!
It's Saturday! Yay!Today, I am to show you all step-by-step on how I do my makeup when I either don’t have a lot of time or when I don’t want to spend a lot of time doing it. I only wear a “full face” of makeup
maybe a few times a week! I look like I am homeless about 98% of the
time and I am completely okay with that.
I am going to be using all of the products that I mentioned in my “Being Beautiful on a Budget: Drugstore Cosmetics 101” blog. I use drugstore stuff when I am not doing anything important. I guess I don’t really see the point in using my expensive makeup if I am not going to be doing anything special It just seems silly to me! I gotta save up my good stuff for those days when I go all out!
Also, I take full responsibility for some of these ugly ass selfies that are down in the step-by-step! I apologize! Lord knows that some days are better than others when it comes to the selfie world. Today was just one of those days. I miss my big window back in Brookings! |
So, let's get started on how to achieve a simple and more natural look.
Step One:
I always apply my makeup on a CLEAN
and MOSTURIZED face! This is so so important. I will wash my face, put
mostiurizer on, and then wait like ten minutes to start on my makeup!
Step Two:
I apply my liquid foundation. I am
using L’Oreal True Match. I mix two together so I mix them together on the back
of my hand, put little dots all over my face, and then PRESS it into my skin
with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Pressing in your makeup rather than
dragging it over your face will help make it stay and also look more natural. I do drag it on my neck though to make sure I don't have any lines.
Step Three:
I go over my entire face with a DAMP
beauty blender. I put it under the sink, squeeze it a few times, and then
squeeze it out in a towel for like a minute. Also, if you don't know what a beauty blender is, please feel free to let me know and I can give you all the details about the miracle worker called the Beauty Blender!
Step Four:
I apply my concealer in a triangle.
Applying your concealer in a triangle is the correct way to apply concealer. I apply it in a triangle and then I will then tap it out with my ring
finger (your ring finger has the least pressure). After that I go in again with my
beauty blender and blend it out if I need too. I used the Maybelline Age Rewind as my concealer.
One eye is blended out in this
picture and one eye is not!

Step Five:
Put powder where you put your
concealer (under your eyes) or where you get shinny! I
used a L’Oreal True Match Powder!
Step Six (Optional):
I lightly filled in my brows with my L'Oreal Brow Stylist Designer Eyebrow pencil. I didn't even really need to do this but I did it anyways. One thing to keep in mind when you are doing your eyebrows is that you can try and try and try to make them identical but your eyebrows will never be identical. It is how it is. It would be amazing if they could be identical but they are not! Mine are totally different! One has a lot of arch too it and then one is just lazy and doesn't want to arch at all. I fight with them all the time and I just gave up.
This is the
brow situation!
They were not perfect today but that’s okay!

Step Seven:
Grab the N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A and with a big fluffy
brush apply some on your temples, on the outside of your cheeks, on your neck, and a little on your chin if you want. You can also put a little hint of it on the sides of your nose. I don't get too crazy with this step because I don't want to look over done. I don’t want it to look like I just got back from Mexico… I just want to add
some warmth and definition to my face!
Step Seven:
Go in with the Sonia Kashuk Large Dome Shadow Brush and apply the same N.Y.C.Bronzer directly into your crease and just blend, blend, blend, and blend some more again! This step will help to make your eyes look more awake! I have little eyes so this is something I ALWAYS do.
Step Eight:
Apply some black eyeliner on your
upper waterline! This step will not only help make your eyes look bigger but
it will also make your eyelashes look fuller! I used L'Oreal Extra-Intense Eyeliner... I like this stuff more than the stuff I mentioned in my other blog. Sorry guys!
Step Nine:
Curl your lashes and apply as many
coats of mascara as you feel necessary! I apply three! The mascara I used was the Cover Girl LashBlast Volume and the Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Cat Eyes.
Step Ten:
Apply some blush directly onto
the apples of your cheeks. I used the Cover Girl Classic Color blush in Soft Mink.
Step Eleven:
Apply some gloss and lipstick! You
can just apply gloss if you want, you can just apply some chapstick if you
want, or you can apply nothing if you want! I wore Revlon Super Natural with Revlon Pink Cognito! I love love LOVE this color combo.
Additional Step:
Go in with a huge fluffy brush and just go over your face to blend all of your things together. This will help if you have any harsh lines around your face!
And you're done! Easy as pie!
Finished look! Yes, I am wearing my
pajama pants!

Have a great Saturday!

Clarissa
